Context
The Quebec Ski Area Association commissioned Ouranos to conduct a study on the system of alpine ski facilities and its adaptation to climate change. This study includes 3 projects:

Project 3: Industry-wide resilience planning
Objective(s)
This study on Quebec’s alpine ski system in the face of climate change will:

Facilitate access to historical and future climate data on snow on the ground throughout Quebec

Assess the vulnerabilities of the ski system, with regard to both skiing and resorts
-
Render ski facilities more self-sufficient in developing their climate change adaptation plans

Develop a resilience plan that will help expand knowledge across the tourism industry and contribute to the development of sustainable and resilient regional strategies
The Minsitère du Tourisme has awarded Ouranos a mandate to support adaptation to climate change in Québec's tourism sector. It will help partners experiment with innovative solutions to promote the development of a resilient tourism industry.

This project is funded by the Quebec government as part of the Ministry of Tourism's Action Plan for Responsible and Sustainable Tourism 2020-2025.
