Minimize the scale of social and health challenges
Climate change and its associated repercussions – notably on air, water, foodstuffs and living environments – undermine the foundations of public health while increasing the risks of disease.
Ouranos endeavours to help mitigate the psychological, social and health impacts of climate change throughout the Quebec population – especially in high-risk groups – by developing and mobilizing knowledge to better understand, prevent and manage such impacts
Growing impacts of climate change on physical, mental and social health
Reported effects on health and social services as well as on the economy
In collaboration with a number of partners, notably the healthcare sector, municipalities, community organizations, etc.:
Further develop knowledge on psychosocial and health impacts as well as on climate change adaptation mechanisms within the population;
Carry out projects that enable acquired knowledge to be applied in concrete ways in order to improve the health of the Quebec population.
