Equitable adaptation: The current situation and efforts by a living lab
Summary of the presentation
Given the risks of climate policies exacerbating inequalities, the Climate Equity Lab documents and works collaboratively on equity in climate change adaptation. First, the presentation will share the results of interviews conducted with professionals involved in local initiatives currently being developed on the challenges of equitable adaptation. We will then discuss the learnings associated with the development and scope of some of the resources developed in our living lab.

Sophie L. Van Neste and Hélène Madénian are respectively a professor-researcher and postdoctoral fellow at the Climate Equity Lab at INRS. Together with colleagues and partners rooted in the community, they are working to document issues of inequality in climate change adaptation and to co-develop tools to raise awareness, mobilize action, and foster dialogue around equitable adaptation in Quebec.
