The International Project Office (IPO) for the World Climate Research Programme (WCRP) Core Project Regional Information for Society (RIfS) is looking for a Science Officer to support the activities outlined below. The WCRP has selected Ouranos to host the RIfS IPO in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

RIfS is intended to help advance international collaboration and consensus on bridging the gap between climate research and climate information used to make decisions. RIfS pays special attention to building local capacity to empower researchers to work within their own regional contexts with decision-makers.

The Science Officer will support activities focused on regional climate change information for decisions. This includes guidance and standards, mapping barriers and challenges, and research to decrease epistemic uncertainties that lead to non-congruence between information sources. The Science Officer provides coordination and scientific support for the volunteer panels of experts or working groups active in this and other topic areas.
